Man arrested for waving Palestinian flag during Muharram procession in UP

Uttar Pradesh: A man was detained following the circulation of a video showing the Palestinian flag during a Muharram moon sighting procession, police reported on Tuesday.

SHO Sachchidanand Pandey from Aurai police station stated that on Sunday night, some youths conducted a procession on the National Highway in the Madhosingh area without authorisation, during which they waved a Palestinian flag and chanted slogans.

The SHO mentioned that after the video went viral on Monday, Sahil alias Badshah and Gorakh were identified during the investigation.

A case was filed under BNS section 197 (2), and Sahil was apprehended on Monday night, according to the police.

Pandey added that the police are currently searching for the others and are working to apprehend others identified from the video.(CNI) Current News of India
