TLSC Drass organizes program on International Women’s Week

Kargil, March 11, 2023:

As per the direction of the Ladakh Legal Services Authority, Tehsil Legal Services Committee Drass organized a program on International Women’s Week from March 04 to March 11 under the aegis of District Legal Services Authority Kargil at Conference Hall Degree College Drass.

Adv. Lobzang Gaylack, Ahmad Hussain Social Worker, Staffs member of TLSA Zanskar, PLVs of TLSC Zanskar, Angwari Workers, students of different schools and college and other local women participated in the program.

Resource person Adv. Lobzang Gaylack highlighted the rights of women, domestic violence, Women Protection Act, 125 CrPc, and also mentioned different schemes of Court regarding women like DLSA and TLSC.

Ahmad Hussain Social Worker spoke on the occasion and stressed on social rights, women empowerment, gender equality and also advised to enjoy life with happiness.

Sr. Assistant Aziz Ahmad Khan of Court Zanskar also spoke on the occasion about gender equality and gender discrimination. He further highlighted the role of women in society.

In the end, a question-answer session was conducted and the resource person replied to all the questions put forth by participants. The program concluded with vote of thanks by Aijaz Hussain Nazir of Munsiff Court Zanskar. Pamphlets highlighting the rights of women were also distributed among the participants.
