Iran VP terms Gaza strip as world’s largest open-air prison
IRNA – Iran’s Vice President Mohammad Mokhber described the Gaza Strip as the world’s largest open-air prison.
Addressing the 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in Uganda on Saturday, Mokhber said that the long-term siege of Gaza and the transformation of this strip into the world’s largest open-air prison has paved the ground for the resistance forces to stand against their enemies and take action to reclaim their lost rights.
Today, after several decades, signs of threats and interference from the dominating powers still cast a shadow on global relations, he added.
Forming coalitions such as the non-alignment movement is more necessary to overcome these challenges, he noted.
“We believe that activating the non-alignment movement in international bodies is in the interest of the world community because the main goal of this movement is to try to materialize justice and expand the rule of law instead of the rule of force in the international system,” Mokhber said.
Dozens of bloody wars, the unblessed domination of the West over different regions of the world in the form of modern colonialism, the looting of the resources of nations, the spread of discrimination in international relations, and the obstruction of the fair settlement of the problems of the international community are among the clear examples of injustice and inefficiency of the international system.
Any attempt to prevent the spread of arson and the return of security in the Palestinian territories, openly by the Zionist regime or its supporting governments, will fail.
The Islamic Republic of Iran urges the members of the Non-Alignment Movement to use all their political and economic capacities to confront the Zionist apartheid regime and to use all their efforts to recognize the inherent rights of the Palestinians.
