DC Budgam chairs 19th NCORD meeting Stresses on carrying out aggressive awareness campaigning throughout the district to curb drug menace

Budgam : The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Budgam Akshay Labroo along with SSP Budgam Al Tahir Gilani today chaired 19th NCORD meeting at Conference Hall, here.
At the outset, ADC Budgam, Mehraj-ud-Din Shah briefed the chair regarding actions taken by various departments decided in the previous NCORD meeting.
Among others, SDMs, Principals of colleges, ETO, Assistant drug controller , inspectors of drug control department also present in the meeting .
While reviewing all the departments involved directly in curbing the spread of drugs in Budgam, the DC stressed on carrying out aggressive awareness campaigning against drugs in all areas of the district to curb the menace at the grassroot level.

Emphasising on 100 percent CCTV installation at all medical stores, the DC instructed Assistant Drug Controller Budgam to ensure mandatory maintaining of record of sale of psychotropic drugs by the medical stores. He appreciated Assistant Drug Controller and revenue authorities for achieving 98% CCTV coverage of medical stores.

He also instructed on conducting random check up of CCTV functioning and data analysing at medical stores.
The SDMs were directed to coordinate with police and Assistant Drug Controller at sub- division level to ensure reinforcing of awareness in all areas.

Instructions were given for taking all scholars, chowkidars and lumberdars and other influencers on board for awareness against use of drugs.
College Principals of Budgam were directed to organise webinars for students for awareness during winter vacation period.
SSP Budgam who also spoke on the occasion, stressed on maintaining tight vigil to curb the menace. He cautioned about peddlers using newer methods for drug supply.
Concerned were given instructions for procurement of required medicine and machinery for smooth counselling of drug addicts.
