Leh, Jan 11: A delegation comprising student and President, District Youth Congress, Kargil, Yousuf Ali Waresnal, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, RK Mathur, at Raj Niwas today. Ok
They apprised of the problems faced by around 75 students of Ladakh in obtaining their graduate degrees and certificates from Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur. They requested for intervention in resolving the issue.
A delegation from Turtuk led by Naib Sarpanch, Turtuk Farol, Rahmatullah, met LG Mathur and raised several issues, viz. the need for funds for the preservation of Balti culture, tradition and culture; upgradation of Primary Health Centre (PHC), Turtuk to Community Health Centre (CHC); sanctioning of solar-lift pumps at Kristhang and Turtuk Chuthang; issuance of Actual Line of Control (ALC) certificate to avail its benefits; sanctioning of a circular road to Turtuk under Special Development Package (SDP); sanction Tebay as a revenue village; sanctioning of link road to Nelithang under Special Development Package (SDP); sanctioning a Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) at Turtuk, etc.
A delegation from Ladakh Brew led by Deachen Chusket and Jigmet Angmo called on LG Mathur to inform about their initiative to promote Chhang, the local barley beer.
