December 30, 1943 The first day of India’s declared independence from the British Raj./ Dinash Upadhya
Srinagar / BJP Senior Leader Mr. Dinash Upadhya said in one of his interviews 30 December 1943 a day which was completely lost from the pages of Indian history. Netaji named the Andaman Islands as Shaheed and the Nicobar lslands as Swaraj and appointed INA General AD Loganathan as the Governor of the islands. Exactly 77 years ago today, the country’s independence was declared from India’s south-eastern Andaman Nicobar Islands and the tricolor was hoisted by Netaji in Port Blair. Azad Hind Fauj, under the leadership of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, liberated many islands of Eastern India from the British occupation. And on this very day, the flag of Azad Hind Fauj was hoisted there as the representative of India.
