Tehran blasts new anti-Iran report of UN fact-finding mission
Reacting to a new report by the so-called fact-finding mission mandated by the UN on the situation of human rights in Iran, Kan’ani condemned the report, describing it as the repetition of unfounded allegations, which have been prepared based on biased and fake information; thus, the report has no lawful authority and is totally rejected.
The so-called fact-finding committee was formed by certain Western states, especially Germany, in November 2022, following the failure of their project to destabilize Iran, the diplomat said, adding that the Islamic Republic categorically rejects the report, which was articulated by the Israeli regime, the US, the UK, and Germany to pursue their political agenda.
He also urged these states to stop improper interference in Iran’s internal affairs and pay heed to the violation of human rights in their own countries, adding that these governments are expected to halt their all-out support for the continuation of genocide and crimes against humanity by the Israeli regime in the Gaza Strip.
As to the situation of women and girls in the Islamic Republic, he argued that the Iranian authorities attach importance to the female citizens of Iran, because they are aware that women will form the future of the country and foil the interfering plots.
Kan’ani further informed that the administration of President Ebrahim Raisi tasked a special committee to probe into the 2022 unrest in Iran, and that the committee will provide its final report to the president in the coming days.
