Four ITBP vehicles stuck in snow-hit Ladakh rescued
Leh :- Four ITBP vehicles stuck in the snow at an altitude of 17,000 feet in Zorsar were on Tuesday brought to safety by a team of the Border Roads Organization’s Project Hammank in Ladakh, a defense spokesman said.
A team of the Border Roads Task Force (BRTF) of Project Hamanak conducted a rescue operation and averted a disaster, Leh Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Defense’s Directorate of Public Relations said in a post on X.
“Responding to a distress call from ITBP, 755 BRTF team – Project Hamank Leh braved extreme weather conditions to rescue four stranded vehicles at an altitude of 17,000 feet at Zarsar,” said a Leh-based defense spokesperson. I mobilized resources, which averted a disaster,” said a Leh-based defense spokesperson while sharing some photos rescue operation in snowy area.
It was not immediately known how many Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel were traveling in the four vehicles, the official said.
In another post, Leh’s public relations officer said 50 BRTF rescued a stranded truck while crossing Chang La at 17,600 feet on Sunday-Monday night.
