Jhelum Boat Tragedy: All possible efforts are on to recover missing persons, IGPV K Bardi

Srinagar  : Inspector General of Police VK Bardi said on Friday that all efforts are on to recover the three persons who went missing following the boat capsizing incident here on Tuesday.

Bardi while talking to the media as per news agency Current News Of India (CNI) said that the search operation is going on amid bad weather conditions.

“All efforts are being made to recover the three missing bodies to bring relief to the bereaved families,” Bardi said.

“Nothing new can be said now as we are continuing to search for the missing persons,” the police officer said.

Responding to a question about the teams’ part of the operation, the top police officer said, wings of the SDRF, NDRF, River Police, MARCOS and paramilitary forces are part of the ongoing operation.

He said that we hope that the operation will be completed successfully

The police officer met the bereaved families earlier in the day and expressed their condolences and support over the tragic incident.

It may be mentioned here that at least six people died and five others were rescued after a boat overturned at Gandbal Batwara in Srinagar, out of which three are still absconding.
