Journalists in Pulwama Form New Association, Appoint Interim President, Spokesperson
Pulwama : An extraordinary meeting took place on Wednesday in Pulwama, where a group of journalists from various media organizations convened to discuss the formation of a new association. The meeting saw the participation of prominent journalists from the region, including Bilal Khan (News 18 JKLH), Ashaq Hussain Margray (ANI), Gazi Khurshid (Kashmir Tribune), Nisar ul-Haq Allie (Pacific Press Agency), Altaf Hussan Mir (City Reporter), Mir Zeeshan (Rising Kashmir), Qisar Ahmad Mir (TV 9 Network), Javid Sofi (Rising Kashmir), Tanha Ayaz (Nida e Kashmir), Mushtaq ul Islam (Kashmir Uzma), Firdous Wani (ANN), Aadil Shahnawaz (Gulistan News), Tawseef Ahmad Khan (Voice of India), Qayoom Khom (CNN18), Arjumand Wani (KD), Jehangir Ganie (KNO), Zahid Chat (Kashmir Pulse), Aasif Ganie (KP), Bilal Habib (Sach News, Chattan), Khursheed Wani (Nigraan), and Mudasir Maqbool (5 Dariya).
In a unanimous decision, the attendees agreed to establish a new association named the Journalist Guild of Pulwama.
The members also decided to hold elections soon to select the president and other representatives of the body, with the date to be announced shortly.
Javid Sofi was appointed as president, while Tanha Ayaz was named spokesperson for the interim period.
