INDIAN ARMY’S JASHN-E-RUSTAM GRAND FESTIVAL TO PROMOTE CULTURE, TRADITION AND TOURISM
Srinagar : Jashn-E-Rustam” cultural festival, was organized by Rustam Battalion on August 27, 2023, near the Line of Control at Rustam, which stands out as a remarkably successful event that underscored unity, gratitude and promotion for tourism in this border region. This inaugural cultural festival, saw an overwhelming footfall of 15,000 people, both local and non-local, serves as a testament to the Indian Army’s commitment to foster bonding between military and civilian communities and showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region. Jashn-E-Rustam cultural festival acknowledged the unwavering support of the local community and was a testament of “Jawan Aur Awam – Saath Saath,” that resonates deeply in Uri region which has often been at the forefront of tensions but also symbolizes resilience and cooperation between Indian Army and the local populace. This unprecedented event being the first of its kind near the Line of Control was crucial in not only acknowledging the support of the locals but also in building a sense of solidarity and mutual respect. The huge turnout of 15,000 people is indicative of the festival’s appeal and strong ties between the community and Indian Army.
