On the sacred occasion of Ganga Ashtami, falling on September 11, 2024, we have the divine opportunity to celebrate the pious birthday of our revered Ma Lalleshwari, also known as Lal Ded. As the embodiment of wisdom, spirituality, and devotion, Ma Lalleshwari has been a guiding light for our Kashmiri Pandit community for centuries.
It is our collective responsibility to honor her legacy with the utmost reverence. On this auspicious day, let every Kashmiri Pandit household resonate with the recitation of her timeless vakhs, which carry the profound wisdom and spiritual depth that have shaped our identity. Let us kindle the flame of devotion by lighting diyas in our homes and temples, symbolizing the eternal light of Ma Lalleshwari’s teachings.
I urge each of you, whether in Jammu and Kashmir, across India, or abroad, to gather with your families and community in your local Mohalla temples or within your homes. Let the air be filled with the soulful bhajans of Lord Shiva and Mata Lalleshwari, as we come together to celebrate her life and teachings.
