Youth JKPC President Mudasir Karim Expresses Concern Over Textbook Shortage in Kashmir

Srinagar : Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference (YJKPC) President, Mudasir Karim, today expressed deep concern over the acute shortage of textbooks for 9th class students in Kashmir. The shortage, caused by publishing delays and syllabus changes, has severely impacted the academic year, leaving students and parents in distress.

According to reports, despite the academic year being well underway, the required textbooks prescribed by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) are unavailable in local markets and bookstores. The JKBOSE stalls and private bookshops have failed to stock the necessary books, leaving families struggling to support their children’s education.

“The shortage of textbooks is a serious issue that demands immediate attention from the authorities,” said Mudasir Karim, YJKPC President. “The Education Department and JKBOSE must take urgent steps to ensure that the textbooks are supplied to the students without further delay. It is the responsibility of the authorities to provide essential resources to students, and their failure to do so is unacceptable.”

Karim emphasized that the textbook shortage has placed immense stress on students, particularly those in the 9th class. The lack of essential resources has affected their ability to keep up with lessons, potentially widening existing educational disparities.

The Youth JKPC President appealed to the authorities to take the textbook shortage issue seriously and work towards resolving it at the earliest. He demanded immediate action to ensure that students have access to the necessary textbooks and educational resources.
