In Ladakh, Feroz Ahmad Khan attended the concluding ceremony of the The 5-day Cluster Level Sports Meet at Trespone organized by Trespone Adventure Sports Club in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Kargil to encourage and expose the youth towards a healthy society.
The Cluster Meet was an impetus to provide a platform for athletes of TSG Block the Most Populated Block of UT Ladakh to showcase their capabilities.
More than 150 players out of which 5 Teams of Archery, 5 teams of Volleyball and 80 Participants of Athletics participated in the Sports Meet despite of the -15 degree Celsius.
Feroz Ahmad Khan congratulated the organizers for successful conduct of the tournament and expressed optimism that the step will go a long way in generating interest among the youngsters about Sports. Khan said LAHDC Kargil is committed to provide all necessary facilities to players to upgrade their skills.
Referring to the Talents of youths of TSG Block in Archery, Feroz Ahmad Khan assured that he will arrange Professional Archery Target Board for villages of TSGs that talented youths can prepare themselves for professional tournaments.
He said that a good number of works for construction of various sports related infrastructure is going on in full swing in the district for which adequate funds have been allocated under different schemes. Referring to the demand of Mini Stadium at Trespone, Feroz Khan said that he will find the File of the mini Stadium which is already under process and will initiate it on fast track basis so that construction of the Stadium will be ensured in the coming years.
The CEC assured players and sports enthusiasts that people will witness drastic change in sports related infrastructure and facilities in near future which will prove instrumental in the promotion of sports culture besides also providing adequate platform to budding players to showcase and hone their sporting skills.
Jagmat Spaldon, District Youth Officer NYK Kargil thanked the organization for organising the event in such a huge level despite of a limited funds and also thanked CEC Feroz Ahmad Khan for gracing the event and encouraging the youths of TSG Block.
Master Hadi organiser of Trespone Adventure Sports Club extended heartfelt gratitude to all the athletes and participants and appreciated the initiative taken by NYK Kargil for organizing the sports events as these help the youth to refrain from falling prey to social evils.
On this occasion Sports Activist and Secretary Ladakh Taekwondo Association Anayat Ali Shotopa, Kacho Mohd BJP Block President TSG, Participants, National Athletes Sajjad Hussain and Parents were also present.
