Various delegations call on LG Mathur
EC Yakzee, Councillor Cha, HE Palga Rinpoche, members of LBA Kargil Unit Unit & ice skating coach raise several issues

CITY REPORTER LEH, Dec 27: A delegation comprising Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee; nominated councillor, LAHDC Leh, Konchok Tsepel and Director, Go Green Go Organic, Dr Thinles Dorjey, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, RK Mathur, at Raj Niwas today.

Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee apprised of various ongoing developmental activities along with issues in Changthang, including the need for a full-fledged sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) at Durbuk along with Tehsildar at Tangtse and Nyoma.

Nominated Councillor Konchok Tsepel highlighted the need for fire extinguisher systems at all the monasteries of Ladakh. Director, Go Green Go Organic, Dr Thinles expressed gratitude to the Administration for supporting the initiative to plant around three lakh tree saplings in Ladakh this year under the project.

Councillor, Cha, Stanzin Lakpa, raised several issues related to Zanskar village, viz. the need for constructing a water reservoir at Chubi Zangla, the construction of an irrigation canal from Lungmar to Skagum, the construction of a steel bridge at Sumchey Akshow village and also at Phugtal monastery, construction of a motorable bridge between Tangkar to Phey; construction of an irrigation canal from Shila to Tsazar and also at Tangze, Ichar, Raru and Stongdey, etc.

Ice skating coach, Mohd Abbass Nordakh, met LG Ladakh and informed about the achievements of ice skaters from Ladakh, the facilities provided to the skaters and the ongoing preparations to represent Ladakh in the National Ice Short Track Speed Championship to be held at Gurgaon.

A delegation from Choekyong Palga Charitable Institute led by HE Palga Rinpoche along with members of Ladakh Buddhist Association, Mulbekh, Kargil Unit, met LG Mathur and requested for support to Ladakhi Buddhist pilgrims visiting holy Buddhist places outside Ladakh. They also raised the issue of the Buddhist monastery at Kargil.
