GDC Drass celebrates Intl. Women’s Day

Kargil, March 09, 2023:

College Cultural Committee today celebrated International Women’s Day at Govt. Degree College Drass under the guidance and supervision of the college’s Principal, Dr Amjad Ali.

The program started with a brief introduction about this year’s women’s day theme and the importance of the event by Jigmat Sangyas, Assistant Professor of Political Science, who is also the convener of the Cultural Committee.

The key speakers of the event include the Principal of the college, Kaneez Fatima, Assistant Professor of Education, Haidar Ali Assistant Professor of Sociology, Azram Tahoor, Assistant Professor of EVS, Kaneez Fatima, Librarian and Sajida Bano and Nusrat Fatima, students of 6th and 2nd semesters respectively.

Dr Amjad Ali emphasized on equal opportunities to girls in all spheres of life and women’s active participation in building a progressive society.

Later, different speakers threw light on the achievements of women in different fields of life. They also spoke about injustice and discrimination faced by women across the globe.

Emphasizing on creating an egalitarian and inclusive society for a better world, all the speakers stressed on taking a shared responsibility by all of us. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Wahida Rehman, Assistant Professor of Geology.
