HANDWARA :- Elections for the post of President , Vice-President and General Secretary posts for HANDWARA MEDIA ASSOCIATION were held at DAK BUNGALOW KARGAMA under the supervision of District Administration , District Police ,Civil Society Members and the prominent Personalities including Mr Mr Raja Akbar,Farooq Bhat,Sagar Gulzar and senior members.

The elections were held in a very peaceful and cordial environment and Total 28 members exercised their Democratic Franchise.

The competition was so accute that For the post of President the two candidates Namely Mr Kabeer Geelani and Dr Tarique Raheem got equal No of votes thereby getting an equal amount of time to serve the association , And it was unanimously decided that Mr Kabeer Geelani shall take over the charge as President for First Six months wef 21-12-2023 uptill 18-06-2024 and thereafter Mr Tarique Raheem shall take the charge for the next Six Months.

For the post of Vice President Syed Imtiyaz won it by securing 15 votes and For the post of General Secretary Mr Aadil Akbar won and securing 17 votes was elected .

In a Brief Press Conference Post the Election Process , The Election Commision members Mr Raja Akbar,Farooq Bhat,Sagar Gulzar,Aijaz Manzar thanked District civil and Police Adminstration for their unwavering support in conducting the Fair and Transparent elections .
