TEHRAN :- On the occasion of Iran’s National Tree Planting Day, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei planted three tree saplings including an olive one to mark the unyielding resistance of the Palestinian nation against the Zionist regime.

The Leader plants trees outside his office premises every year on March 5.

During the event, the Leader spoke of the importance that Islam places on caring for nature. He pointed to the planting of an olive sapling and said, “To show our solidarity and empathy with the oppressed, but truly resilient people of Palestine, one of the trees planted today was an olive tree. This symbolic gesture was actually a way to extend our greetings to them and to say that we always have the Palestinian people in mind, even when we plant a tree.”

Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized that planting trees is a profitable and rewarding investment. He noted that trees offer numerous advantages, like increasing oxygen levels and helping to reduce pollutants, making it a profitable investment choice.

During his speech, Ayatollah Khamenei also expressed his gratitude to the Iranian nation for participating in Iran’s elections on March 1, noting that their presence was not only a duty to society and civilization but also an act of Jihad.

The Leader added, “For almost an entire year, the enemies tried to dissuade the people from participating in the elections and wanted there to be a low turn-out for the elections, with their propaganda. However, the people counteracted the efforts of the enemies with their remarkable, epic move on March 1. Thus, this move was an act of Jihad.”

Elsewhere in his speech, Ayatollah Khamenei addressed the recent floods in the southern parts of Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan Province and spoke of the damage that was inflicted on the local population. He called for continuing support and assistance from both governmental and non-governmental organizations, urging those with the means to help out to step in and join relief efforts.

In addition to planting an olive sapling, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution also planted two domestically-grown saplings, a “Lawson Cypress” and a “Persian Ironwood.”
