Jammu : In the heart of every Kashmiri Pandit lies a complex tapestry of emotions towards the present government led by Sh.Narendra ModiJi. While admiration for Prime Minister Modi’s visionary leadership and commendable efforts in steering the nation towards progress resonates deeply, but there exists a profound sense of discontent and neglect among the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community.

Despite the remarkable strides made in various sectors under Modi Ji’s leadership, the plight of Kashmiri Pandits remains a poignant reminder of unmet promises and unaddressed grievances. The community’s relentless struggle in exile echoes through the corridors of power, yet their pleas seem to fall on deaf ears.

The demands of the Kashmiri Pandit community, painstakingly articulated through memorandums, media platforms, and grassroots advocacy, encapsulate their yearning for justice, recognition, and restoration. These demands, though fundamental to their identity and survival, have been met with indifference and apathy, which include as under:

– A commission of inquiry into the ethnic cleansing and genocide suffered by the Kashmiri Pandit community, a chapter of history that must be acknowledged and rectified.

– Recognition of Kashmiri Pandits as internally displaced people, entitling them to rightful benefits and protections.

– Judicial redressal for the innocent lives lost and families shattered during the tragic exodus from their homeland.

– Accountability for perpetrators who pillaged, plundered, and vandalized Kashmiri Pandit properties in the valley.

– Restoration of indigenous status to the community, honoring their ancestral roots that span millennia.

– Passage of the shrine and temple bill, safeguarding religious sanctuaries from desecration and decay.

– Expedited rehabilitation and economic empowerment initiatives for displaced Kashmiri Pandit youth.

– Swift and decisive action against the perpetrators of violence targeting the Kashmiri Pandit community.

– Fulfillment of displacement packages and compensation for losses incurred during the tumultuous period of exile.

– Preservation and protection of religious sites and properties belonging to the Kashmiri Pandit community.

– Provision of government accommodation to displaced Kashmiri Pandits residing in rented houses across various cities.

– Timely enhancement of relief measures and expedited recruitment and reservation quotas for the community in government sectors.

– Decisive steps towards the establishment of a ‘One Place Settlement’ for displaced Kashmiri Pandits, ensuring a semblance of homecoming amidst their ancestral land.& others.

The refrain of “justice delayed is justice denied” reverberates through the corridors of power, demanding accountability and action. As the custodians of governance and representatives of the people, it is incumbent upon the BJP and government leaders to heed the call of the Kashmiri Pandit community.

In the forthcoming parliamentary and Jammu and Kashmir elections, the Kashmiri Pandit community implores the BJP to embed their demands within the party manifesto, backed by sincere assurances of swift resolution post-election victory.

The time has come for dialogue to transition into decisive action, for promises to transform into tangible outcomes, and for the wounds of the past to be healed through proactive measures. The Kashmiri Pandit community awaits a response, not merely in words, but in substantive actions that uphold the principles of justice, inclusivity, and dignity.
