Army rescues 80 people trapped during snowfall in Ladakh

LEH, (CNI): At least 80 people, including women and children, were rescued from being trapped in the 17,688-feet Chang La Pass between Leh and the Shivk River in central Ladakh during snowfall were, said the army on Sunday.

The Leh-based Fire and Fury Corps of the Indian Army said the midnight operation was carried out by soldiers of the Trishul Division.

“Soldiers of the Trishul Division responded quickly to an emergency situation at the snowy heights of Chang La and cleared the traffic block, working tirelessly for two hours into the night, and rescued around Relieved 80 people.” Kaur wrote on his official social media handle ‘X’.

He has also shared a few pictures and a video of the rescue operation.
