IRAN, May 08 – Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi has called for aiding the Palestinian people in the war-torn Gaza Strip and sending humanitarian aid to the besieged enclave.

Issuing a statement on the occasion of the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day on Wednesday, president Raeisi stressed that forgiveness, altruism, helping and serving people have special importance in the teachings of Islam.

This year’s World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day is marked while the people of Gaza are living in the most difficult conditions, and the provision of relief and necessary services to these people has been hindered due to the hostility of the Zionist regime, he stressed.

He once again called upon the world bodies and all the awakened human consciences to help the oppressed people of Gaza and provide the grounds for sending humanitarian aid and reducing the human suffering of the oppressed people in the coastal sliver.
