Silchar: Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi affirmed his support for Assam and referred to himself as their “soldier in Parliament” during a visit to a flood relief camp at Fulertal in Cachar district. He called on the government of India to provide immediate assistance to the flood-stricken state.

Gandhi expressed his condolences to families affected by the floods, mentioning the tragic loss of an 8-year-old boy, Avinash, as reported by ANI.
