Sanctioning Iran would lead nowhere: Raeisi
President Raeisi made the remarks while speaking at the 6th exhibition of Iran’s export capabilities under the title IRANEXPO 2024 on Saturday morning.
“This exhibition shows that Iran is unsanctionable,” Raeisi said, adding that the Islamic Republic of Iran, with its efficient and determined workforce, with its initiatives and creativity, and with the benefit of new technologies, can offer innovations to the world.
“This exhibition shows what has been achieved by the hands of our beloved youth in this country and has turned sanctions into opportunities, and this great commercial and economic event shows that we have been able to do it and we can do it again.”
Saying that Iran has vast potential, Raeisi underlined that although the West is trying to prevent the country from gaining access to new technologies, Iran has managed to domesticize this knowledge.
Iran has faced the most pressure from the enemy in the nuclear and military industries, while most of the country’s progress has happened in these sections, he further cited.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Iranian president emphasized that having access to nuclear weapons has no place in Iran’s doctrine, adding that the country will use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes and in different sections such as industry.
“The domination system cannot stop determined nations and independent governments from progressing,” he went on to say, adding, “Military power is very important, but the importance of production and export is not less than military power.”
Stressing the need for empowering the production section, Raeisi called for expanding trade interactions using national currency.
God has provided all facilities to mankind in a fair manner, but unfortunately, the current sanctions are symbols of oppression of governments and nations.
Sanctions are a kind of war, but not a military war, a war that deprives a nation of what it can achieve, he continued, adding, “In the war of wills, the people of Iran decided to overcome the sanctions by trusting in God and relying on the national assets and capabilities, so that not (only) us, but the spokesman of the White House, announced that the maximum pressure (campaign) on the Islamic Republic had shamefully failed.”
